Economics Institute of the CAS announces a competition for the position IT Operations & Development Manager.
Become the leader of the IT department of a prestigious research institution.
We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient colleague for the position of IT Operations & Development Manager, who is not afraid to take responsibility for the development and operation of key infrastructure in the environment of a prestigious research institution.
Your task will not only be to lead a small team of IT professionals, but also to shape the technological vision, manage development projects and keep our infrastructure safe, modern and efficient. WHAT WILL YOUR JOB DO?
• Develop the IT environment through
• Ensure smooth operation of IT throughout the organization, including conceptual management and budget management.
• Lead a small, well-coordinated team of IT specialists (6 other colleagues).
• Communicate and collaborate with partners from Charles University, the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and external suppliers of hardware, software, services and licenses.
• Prepare and administer IT public procurement contracts (including the creation of tender documentation) in cooperation with the relevant department.
• Ensure and be responsible for IT security, creation and updating of security policies, risk management, business continuity plans, emergency scenarios, penetration testing and audits.
• Ensure management and development of network infrastructure in cooperation with the supplier - firewalls, switches, routers, WiFi controllers, email gateways, anti-malware, Microsoft 365.
• Maintain system documentation and build know-how in the team.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
• University degree in a technical field.
• Excellent knowledge of English for communication with foreign colleagues (written and oral).
• Proven managerial experience and skills in project management.
• Broad overview of IT: security, networks, servers, applications, backups.
• Good knowledge of IT security, risk management, business continuity, NIS2 and GDPR.
• Practical experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of server operating systems administration (Linux, Windows).
• Independence, reliability, diligence and a systematic approach.
• Willingness to learn new things and a positive attitude to work.
• Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
